This artwork by Tan Choh Tee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in April 2020. In the Ritual + Culture OnlineFine Southeast Asian Arts auction, the work Corner of a Street in Chinatown, Singapore sold for HKD 106,875.00 (€ 12,585.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tan Choh Tee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fruits Stall sold at auction in April 2018 with the realized price of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 15,827.40).

In der Auktion Ritual + Culture OnlineFine Southeast Asian Arts wurde die Arbeit Corner of a Street in Chinatown, Singapore für HKD 106.875,00 (€ 12.585,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tan Choh Tee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Fruits Stall im April 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 15.827,40).
