Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Eye Love Superflat by Takashi Murakami was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 109,000.00 (€ 70,051.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Takashi Murakami achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Lonesome Cowboy in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 15,161,000.00 (€ 9,743,573.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Eye Love Superflat von Takashi Murakami im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 109.000,00 (€ 70.051,41) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Takashi Murakami erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Lonesome Cowboy im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.161.000,00 (€ 9.743.573,26).
