This artwork by Tai Xiangzhou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2015. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Celestial No. 15 sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,478.75) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tai Xiangzhou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mountains and Streams in May 2017 with an auction result of 240 200,000.00 (€ 177,999.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tai Xiangzhou erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink wurde die Arbeit Celestial No. 15 für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.478,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tai Xiangzhou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mountains and Streams im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von 240 200.000,00 (€ 177.999,29).
