Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work How Far is the Freedom by T. V. Santhosh was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 26,836.39). Admittedly, works by T. V. Santhosh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Traces of an Ancient Error in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 337,000.00 (€ 213,223.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit How Far is the Freedom von T. V. Santhosh im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 26.836,39) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von T. V. Santhosh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Traces of an Ancient Error im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 337.000,00 (€ 213.223,66).
