Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Tally Ho! by Sylvester Martin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 940.00 (€ 1,350.83), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sylvester Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The ghillie's rest, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,815.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tally Ho! von Sylvester Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 940,00 (€ 1.350,83) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sylvester Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The ghillie's rest beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.815,81) versteigert wurde.
