Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART AND DOGS, which included the work In full cry, Gilberts Green, Tamworth; Gone away, Spring Coppice; and The kill, after a fast 4d. minute by Sylvester Martin. The price achieved of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,024.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sylvester Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The ghillie's rest, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,815.81).

Im November 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion SPORTING ART AND DOGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit In full cry, Gilberts Green, Tamworth; Gone away, Spring Coppice; and The kill, after a fast 4d. minute von Sylvester Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.024,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sylvester Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The ghillie's rest beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.815,81) versteigert wurde.
