Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Spirit of The Plains by Sydney Long was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 5,377.50 (€ 3,305.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sydney Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian the Milkmaid in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 67,200.00 (€ 39,227.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Spirit of The Plains von Sydney Long kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 5.377,50 (€ 3.305,58) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sydney Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian the Milkmaid im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 67.200,00 (€ 39.227,87).
