A top price for Sun Xingyan
This artwork by Sun Xingyan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script sold for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,608.29) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. This high result makes Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script the most expensive artwork by Sun Xingyan that we have observed at auctions so far.
