This artwork by Sun Xingyan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2013. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal auction, the work Calligraphy In Seal Script sold for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,850.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sun Xingyan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,608.29).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sun Xingyan erzielte im September 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.850,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sun Xingyan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script im Mai 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.608,29).
