Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Couplet In Seal Script by Sun Xingyan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,810.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sun Xingyan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,608.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script von Sun Xingyan kam im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.810,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sun Xingyan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.608,29) versteigert wurde.
