Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Couplet In Seal Script by Sun Xingyan. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,536.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sun Xingyan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,608.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script von Sun Xingyan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.536,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sun Xingyan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couplet Calligraphy in Seal Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.608,29) versteigert wurde.
