In June 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale, which included the work Made in China (Yellow) by Sui Jianguo. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 52,920.00 (€ 5,748.48), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sui Jianguo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Shadow Of The Century (Set Of Ten) in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 5,780,000.00 (€ 533,780.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Made in China (Yellow) von Sui Jianguo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 52.920,00 (€ 5.748,48) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sui Jianguo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Shadow Of The Century (Set Of Ten) im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.780.000,00 (€ 533.780,74).
