Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Untitled, 1961 by Kokuta Suda. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,667.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kokuta Suda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2016 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,205.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1961 von Kokuta Suda zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.667,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kokuta Suda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.205,98) versteigert wurde.
