A top price for Kokuta Suda - as previously expected
This work without title by Kokuta Suda was sold in the Asobi: Japanese & Korean Postwar Art auction at Christies in London in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,205.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Kokuta Suda that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kokuta Suda wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Asobi: Japanese & Korean Postwar Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.205,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Kokuta Suda, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
