Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Steven Parrino achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2017. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work E. Gien sold for USD 206,250.00 (€ 173,348.46) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steven Parrino - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Idol/Idiot, which sold at auction in June 2013 for GBP 566,500.00 (€ 661,206.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Steven Parrino erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit E. Gien für USD 206.250,00 (€ 173.348,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Steven Parrino mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Idol/Idiot beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für GBP 566.500,00 (€ 661.206,96) versteigert wurde.
