Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sharbat Gula, Afghan Girl, Pakistan by Steve McCurry. The price achieved of USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve McCurry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010, which sold at auction in November 2018 for INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sharbat Gula, Afghan Girl, Pakistan von Steve McCurry zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Steve McCurry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 47.359,36) versteigert wurde.
