Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Gift of Photographs, which included the work Woman in Chand Baori Stepwell, Rajasthan, India by Steve McCurry. The price achieved of USD 2,176.00 (€ 1,967.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,800.00 – 2,400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steve McCurry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Gift of Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman in Chand Baori Stepwell, Rajasthan, India von Steve McCurry zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.176,00 (€ 1.967,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.800,00 – 2.400,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Steve McCurry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 47.359,36).
