Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Gift of Photographs, which included the work Afghan Girl, Peshawar, Pakistan by Steve McCurry. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,360.00 (€ 13,885.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve McCurry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010, which sold at auction in November 2018 for INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Gift of Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afghan Girl, Peshawar, Pakistan von Steve McCurry zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.360,00 (€ 13.885,37) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Steve McCurry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 47.359,36) versteigert wurde.
