STEVE GALLOWAY (B. 1952) The Proclamation of Mr. Higgs Merino (You Can Take That Crap Outta Here, Pal!) signed with the artist's initials and dated 'SG 85' (lower right) pastel and watercolor on paper 71 x 45 1 ⁄ 2 in. (180.3 x 115.6 cm.) Executed in 1985.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Proclamation of Mr. Higgs Merino (You Can Take That Crap Outta Here, Pal!) by Steve Galloway was auctioned at Christies in New York in December last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,884.46). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve Galloway - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quivering State, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,012.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Proclamation of Mr. Higgs Merino (You Can Take That Crap Outta Here, Pal!) von Steve Galloway kam im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.884,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Steve Galloway mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Quivering State beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.012,76) versteigert wurde.
