In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The No-Cal by Stevan Dohanos. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,991.43), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stevan Dohanos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Art Lover (Tired Museum Feet), which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 118,750.00 (€ 108,013.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The No-Cal von Stevan Dohanos zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 29.991,43) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Stevan Dohanos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Art Lover (Tired Museum Feet) beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 118.750,00 (€ 108.013,46) versteigert wurde.
