Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Stephen Hannock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the American Art auction, the work Squid Boats on the Gulf of Siam: Early Morning sold for USD 25,312.50 (€ 22,426.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Hannock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 250,075.00 (€ 224,302.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Stephen Hannock erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Squid Boats on the Gulf of Siam: Early Morning für USD 25.312,50 (€ 22.426,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Hannock erzielen.
