This artwork by Stephen Hannock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the American Art auction, the work Squid Boats on the Gulf of Siam: Early Morning sold for USD 25,312.50 (€ 22,426.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Hannock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 250,075.00 (€ 224,302.63).
