Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction American Art, which included the work Flooded River: Iridescent Dawn by Stephen Hannock. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,376.00 (€ 5,045.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Hannock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 250,075.00 (€ 224,302.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flooded River: Iridescent Dawn von Stephen Hannock zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.376,00 (€ 5.045,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Hannock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.075,00 (€ 224.302,63).
