This artwork by Stephen Hannock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May last year. In the American Art auction, the work Study for The Oxbow: After Church, After Cole, Flooded (Flooded River for the Matriarchs E. & A. Mongan) 10 1/4 x 15 1/4 in. (26 x 38.7 cm.) sold for USD 31,875.00 (€ 29,703.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Stephen Hannock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 250,075.00 (€ 224,302.63).

(26 x 38.7 cm.) für USD 31.875,00 (€ 29.703,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Hannock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.075,00 (€ 224.302,63).
