In the American Art auction, the work Study for The Oxbow: After Church, After Cole, Flooded (Flooded River for the Matriarchs E. & A. Mongan) 10 1/4 x 15 1/4 in. (26 x 38.7 cm.) sold for USD 31,875.00 (€ 29,703.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Stephen Hannock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Oxbow, for Lane Faison with Betty and Agnes Mongan (Mass MoCA #147) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 250,075.00 (€ 224,302.63).
