Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nude, back view; together with Male Nude No. 72; and Male Nude No. 5 by Stanton Macdonald-Wright was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 846.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nude, back view; together with Male Nude No. 72; and Male Nude No. 5 von Stanton Macdonald-Wright im September 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 846,53) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still-Life Synchromy im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
