Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2014. In the American Art auction, the work Flying Figure No. 2 sold for USD 173,000.00 (€ 126,832.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanton Macdonald-Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still-Life Synchromy in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Flying Figure No. 2 für USD 173.000,00 (€ 126.832,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanton Macdonald-Wright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still-Life Synchromy im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.165.000,00 (€ 1.740.633,54).
