Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sans Titre (Portrait) by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 7,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weibliches Portrait in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 112,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sans Titre (Portrait) von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 7.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weibliches Portrait im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 112.500,00.
