In July 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work I Understand A Girlfren by Spencer Sweeney. The result of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,347.71) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Spencer Sweeney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Tropez Gigolo in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).
