Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by Spencer Lewis was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. It achieved a price of USD 35,560.00 (€ 32,707.87), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Spencer Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 113,400.00 (€ 106,438.90).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Spencer Lewis wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 35.560,00 (€ 32.707,87) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Für andere Arbeiten von Spencer Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 113.400,00 (€ 106.438,90) versteigert wurde.
