Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Song Xiang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script sold for HKD 47,500.00 (€ 4,492.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Song Xiang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Xiang erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script für HKD 47.500,00 (€ 4.492,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Song Xiang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96).
