The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,564.47), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Song Xiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script, which sold at auction in May 2007 for HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Song Xiang wurde im März 2015 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.564,47) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Song Xiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96) versteigert wurde.
