Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Song Xiang. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,910.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Song Xiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script, which sold at auction in May 2007 for HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Song Xiang zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.910,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Song Xiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Cursive Script beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96) versteigert wurde.
