Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Mrs Georgiana Alice Drum by William Orpen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 51,716.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Orpen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Idina Wallace in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,158,239.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Georgiana Alice Drum von William Orpen kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 51.716,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
