Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Woman Thinking - Portrait of Miss Sinclair by William Orpen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 81,900.00 (€ 96,158.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Orpen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Idina Wallace in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,158,239.93).
