Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Georges Clémenceau by William Orpen was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,566.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Orpen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Lady Idina Wallace in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,158,239.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Georges Clémenceau von William Orpen kam im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.566,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Orpen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Idina Wallace im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.158.239,93).
