Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work The fisherman's family by William McTaggart. It changed hands for a price of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 42,169.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William McTaggart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Past And The Present, which sold at auction in August 2008 for GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,234.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The fisherman's family von William McTaggart zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 33.750,00 (€ 42.169,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William McTaggart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Past And The Present beobachtet, die im August 2008 für GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.234,00) versteigert wurde.
