Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of John Compton (1750-1803); And Portrait Of Catharine Compton (1770-1805), His Wife by William Beechey was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,855.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of John Compton (1750-1803); And Portrait Of Catharine Compton (1770-1805), His Wife von William Beechey wurde im Juli 2013 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert.
