Sold at the upper estimate price

The work Portrait of Ann Maria Harriet de Rhodes (1793-1849), full-length, in a white dress and pink chiffon wrap, a wooded landscape beyond by William Beechey was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2011. The auction ended at the price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,691.24), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve.
