Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Portrait of Ann Maria Harriet de Rhodes (1793-1849), full-length, in a white dress and pink chiffon wrap, a wooded landscape beyond by William Beechey was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2011. The auction ended at the price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,691.24), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
