The work Portrait Of A Boy, Said To Be Master Barker by William Beechey was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,919.72), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Beechey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dashwood Children in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 821,000.00 (€ 608,148.15).
