Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Two Nude Men Dragged Down By Demons And Lifted Up By Three Partly Robed Figures, After Michelangelo by Peter Paul Rubens was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 600,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 1,925,000.00 (€ 1,705,048.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Rubens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lot and his Daughters in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 44,882,500.00 (€ 53,330,119.54).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Two Nude Men Dragged Down By Demons And Lifted Up By Three Partly Robed Figures, After Michelangelo von Peter Paul Rubens im Januar 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches.
