Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figure studies ( recto and verso ) by Peter Paul Rubens was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 122,627.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Rubens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lot and his Daughters in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 44,882,500.00 (€ 53,330,119.54).
