Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2016 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art, which included the work St Paul Du Var by Matthew Smith. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,782.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Connie Martin in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 252,766.38).
