Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joshua Reynolds achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of Lady Mary Leslie (1753-99), Full-Length, With Lambs In A Landscape sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,365.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joshua Reynolds achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Lady Frances Marsham, later Countess of Romney (1755-1795), full-length, in a yellow dress and pink shawl, in a park landscape in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,786,500.00 (€ 6,037,281.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joshua Reynolds erzielte im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Mary Leslie (1753-99), Full-Length, With Lambs In A Landscape für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.365,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joshua Reynolds erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Lady Frances Marsham, later Countess of Romney (1755-1795), full-length, in a yellow dress and pink shawl, in a park landscape im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.786.500,00 (€ 6.037.281,44).
