It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,786,500.00 (€ 6,037,281.44) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of Lady Frances Marsham, later Countess of Romney (1755-1795), full-length, in a yellow dress and pink shawl, in a park landscape is the most expensive artwork by Joshua Reynolds that we have observed at auctions so far.
