Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper, which included the work Portrait Of Lady Anne Dawson (1733–1769), As Diana by Joshua Reynolds. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 90,628.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joshua Reynolds achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Lady Frances Marsham, later Countess of Romney (1755-1795), full-length, in a yellow dress and pink shawl, in a park landscape in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,786,500.00 (€ 6,037,281.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Lady Anne Dawson (1733–1769), As Diana von Joshua Reynolds zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 90.628,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joshua Reynolds erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Lady Frances Marsham, later Countess of Romney (1755-1795), full-length, in a yellow dress and pink shawl, in a park landscape im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.786.500,00 (€ 6.037.281,44).
