Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Hareem beauties by John Gilbert. The price achieved of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,152.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by John Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The marriage of Katherine and Petruchio: The Taming of the Shrew in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,159.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hareem beauties von John Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.152,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The marriage of Katherine and Petruchio: The Taming of the Shrew im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.159,49).
