This artwork by Henry George Rushbury achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2006. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Brighton Sands sold for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,719.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry George Rushbury; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hotel Bretonvilliers, Paris sold at auction in June 2006 with the realized price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,083.66).
