This artwork by Frederic William Burton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2003. In the Important British & Irish Art auction, the work Sunday Morning sold for GBP 100,450.00 (€ 144,197.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederic William Burton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Child Miranda 'The isle is full of noises, Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not'- Tempest, which sold at auction in June 2004 for GBP 206,850.00 (€ 307,854.76).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederic William Burton erzielte im November 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Sunday Morning für GBP 100.450,00 (€ 144.197,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederic William Burton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Child Miranda 'The isle is full of noises, Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not'- Tempest beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für GBP 206.850,00 (€ 307.854,76) versteigert wurde.
