Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Malaysian Power Station Pairs 1, 3, 10, 12, 13 - From A Series Of 26 Images (13 Pairs) by Simryn Gill for AUD 5,880.00 (€ 3,456.97). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simryn Gill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Malaysian Forest Nos. 3, 4, 11, which sold at auction in August 2009 for AUD 15,600.00 (€ 9,171.55).
