In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Malaysian Forest Nos. 3, 4, 11 by Simryn Gill. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 15,600.00 (€ 9,171.55), 30% above the upper estimate. With this result, Malaysian Forest Nos. 3, 4, 11 is even the most expensive work of art by Simryn Gill that we have observed at auctions so far.
