Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Six works: (i) Standing Still (#17); (ii) Standing Still (#60); (iii) Standing Still (#102); (iv) Standing Still (#104); (v) Standing Still (#112); (vi) Standing Still (#122) by Simryn Gill was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1 Admittedly, works by Simryn Gill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Malaysian Forest Nos. 3, 4, 11 in August 2009 with an auction result of AUD 15,600.00 (€ 9,171.55).
